Does carboplatin cause hair loss?

My sister is undergoing treatment and just started carboplatin. She's very concerned about losing her hair, as it's been a tough journey already. Does carboplatin typically cause hair loss?

During chemotherapy, the body undergoes a lot of heat, and hair loss is very common. While you must follow your doctor's instructions, gently applying mild coconut oil to a dry scalp can sometimes provide some comfort and cooling.

Yes, carboplatin definitely causes hair thinning and often complete hair loss, which usually starts a few weeks after the first cycle. It is a tough phase, but remember that this is temporary and your hair will grow back after treatment.

Haan, isse hair fall to kaafi hota hai, chemotherapy ka standard side effect hai na. Par aap bilkul himmat mat harna, treatment poora hone ke baad baal dubaara aa jaate hain.

Haan na, carboplatin se hair loss kaafi hota hai, temporary hota hai par dukh to hota hi hai. Just take care of your scalp and wear soft caps to stay comfortable during this time.

My relative lost most of their hair during carboplatin treatment, but we just bought some nice soft scarves and made a style statement out of it. It's a known side effect, so just prepare for it with a smile.

Yes, carboplatin-induced hair loss is very common. You can track your symptoms and cycles on health apps to monitor when the shedding peaks, and keep your oncologist updated on any scalp irritation.

When my mother was prescribed carboplatin at Amrita Hospital, the doctor clearly explained that hair loss would occur. Please discuss this openly with your oncologist so they can guide you on what to expect and how to manage it.
