Does caffeine increase cortisol weight gain?

I've been feeling stressed lately, and I read that stress increases cortisol, which can lead to weight gain. I also drink a lot of coffee. Does caffeine contribute to higher cortisol levels and therefore more weight?

While caffeine can cause a transient increase in cortisol secretion, it rarely leads to significant weight gain on its own in healthy individuals. However, chronic stress combined with high caffeine can affect your sleep and eating habits, so consulting a healthcare professional is best.

I panicked so much thinking my morning black coffee was spiking my stress hormones and causing belly fat. But when I managed my work stress and slept 8 hours, my weight dropped easily even with my daily coffee. Don't worry too much!

Wait, is this why I feel so bloated and stressed during exam weeks? I drink like four cups of coffee a day. Maybe I need to chill with the caffeine and actually sleep.

Caffeine does stimulate your adrenal glands slightly, which can elevate cortisol, especially if you are already stressed out. Try to limit yourself to one or two cups in the morning and avoid it after 3 PM to protect your sleep.

Haan na, internet par weight gain ke baare mein kitna kuch likha hota hai. Actually if you drink coffee on an empty stomach it might feel stressful for the body. Try having it after a small breakfast, it feels much better.

High stress and caffeine can raise both your blood pressure and cortisol. I had to strictly limit my tea intake and start regular yoga to manage my stress levels. Please get your BP and health checked regularly.

In our days, we drank home-brewed tea twice a day and did physical work, and nobody had these weight issues. Don't worry too much about these new terms like cortisol. Just eat clean, home-cooked food and stay active.

I am a bit confused, does this cortisol spike happen only with black coffee or does regular milk and sugar tea also cause the same issue? I'd love to know what others think.

I used to drink pre-workout coffee late in the evening and noticed I was holding a lot of water weight around my stomach. Once I stopped late caffeine and fixed my sleep, the puffiness went away. It definitely plays a role.

According to the bio-tracking articles on my fitness app, caffeine temporarily raises cortisol but regular users develop a tolerance. The real danger for weight gain is the extra sugar and disrupted sleep cycles.

With thyroid issues, our metabolism is already slow, and high cortisol from too much caffeine can make weight management even harder. I highly suggest getting regular thyroid panel tests and consulting your doctor before making major diet changes.

Haan, cortisol level badhne se thodi dikkat toh hoti hai, par tabhi jab aap bohot zyada stress le rahe ho na. Sirf ek cup chai ya coffee peene se koi mota nahi ho jata, tension mat lo.
