Does bupropion cause weight gain?

My doctor prescribed Bupropion for my condition, and I'm generally careful about medication side effects. I've heard some meds can make you gain weight, and I'm actively trying to stay fit. Does Bupropion typically cause weight gain?

I was actually reading up on this because my cousin might start this medicine. Most medical studies actually say bupropion is one of the few antidepressants that is weight-neutral or can even cause weight loss, rather than gain. It's quite interesting how different it is from other meds.

I completely understand your anxiety because I also spent hours googling side effects before taking my first pill. It is very natural to feel scared about weight changes. But clinically, bupropion has a very low chance of causing weight gain, so try to take a deep breath.

To be very direct, bupropion does not typically cause weight gain. In fact, it is often prescribed to avoid the weight gain side effects of other drugs. Just stick to your routine, eat clean, and don't let unnecessary internet rumors stress you out.

Good news! Bupropion is actually famous for not causing weight gain. 😊 Most people find their weight stays exactly the same or even drops a bit. Just keep a positive mind and continue with your healthy routine!

I totally get it, worrying about weight gain when starting a new medicine is so stressful. But the good news is that bupropion is generally not known for causing weight gain. Still, please be gentle with yourself and give your body some time to adjust.

At my age, even looking at a samosa causes weight gain, so I was terrified of this medicine! But honestly, bupropion didn't add any extra kilos to my waistline. It is one of the few meds that didn't make me feel constantly hungry, thankfully.

Even if there is a slight tendency to gain weight, you can easily manage it by staying active. If your doctor allows, try to go for a brisk 30-minute walk daily and do some light strength training. Keeping your body moving is the best way to keep your metabolism active while on medication.

I had the same concern when I started it last year, but my weight actually remained totally stable. It didn't affect my appetite in a bad way at all. Just make sure to eat your regular healthy home meals and you should be absolutely fine.

Medicines have their own work to do, but keeping our digestion clean is in our hands. Even if a medicine causes slight changes, drinking warm water in the morning and eating light food helps a lot. Bupropion is generally safe, but healthy eating habits will always protect you.

As someone with thyroid issues, I have to be very careful with any medication that might slow down my metabolism. While bupropion usually doesn't cause weight gain, it's always smart to get your thyroid and metabolic markers checked regularly. Keep your doctor updated on any changes you notice.

Honestly, between my terrible sleep and midnight cravings, I gain weight anyway! But thankfully, bupropion didn't make me put on any extra pounds. If you are gaining weight, it might just be stress-eating rather than this tablet.

Actually, bupropion usually doesn't cause weight gain yaar. Most of my friends who took it said it actually reduced their food cravings. But everyone's body reacts differently, so you just have to see how it goes for you.

Managing PCOS has made me very cautious about any medication and weight changes. While bupropion is typically considered safe from weight gain, it's still best to monitor how you feel. Keep eating a balanced diet and stay in touch with your doctor just to be safe.

I am about to start this medicine and I am so anxious about putting on weight. Did anyone here actually gain weight on bupropion, or is it really as weight-neutral as they say? I just need some reassurance from people who have actually taken it.

Hey, don't worry about this too much. Bupropion is actually known to be quite weight-friendly compared to other similar medications. Just focus on getting better and taking your doses on time, and if anything feels off, your doctor is always there to guide you.
