Does alcoholic fatty liver cause weight gain?

I was recently diagnosed with alcoholic fatty liver, and I've also noticed some unexplained weight gain, especially around my stomach. Is this weight gain a common symptom directly related to the fatty liver condition?

Haan na, because of fatty liver our metabolism slows down a lot, which makes it very easy to gain weight around the belly. The liver cannot process fats properly anymore. It is better to get regular LFT tests done to stay safe.

I was recently told I have mild fatty liver and I've also noticed my waist size increasing. Does this mean the liver itself is causing the weight, or is it just the alcohol calories? I'm a bit confused and worried.

I struggled with this last year, my weight shot up because fatty liver totally ruined my digestion and energy levels. Once I stopped alcohol completely and walked 5km daily, my liver cleared up and I lost 8 kgs. Recovery is definitely possible.

Actually, fatty liver makes your body store fat much more easily, yaar. It messes with how insulin works in your body, leading to that stubborn belly fat. You really need to cut the alcohol and eat clean to reverse it.

Yes, my hepatologist explained that alcoholic fatty liver disrupts lipid metabolism and leads to insulin resistance. This hormonal imbalance makes the body store visceral fat, particularly around the abdomen. Regular monitoring via ultrasound and blood work is highly recommended.

Bro, don't stress too much, it is a very common issue but completely reversible if you take charge now. The weight gain happens because your liver is too tired to burn fat. Just give up the drinks for a while and focus on clean food!

I went to Apollo Hospital for my husband's checkup, and the doctor clearly said that ignoring a fatty liver can lead to permanent scarring. The weight gain is just one symptom of the liver struggling. Please consult a gastroenterologist and get a proper diet chart.

Having PCOS has taught me how closely liver health and weight are linked. Alcoholic fatty liver can definitely throw your metabolic health off balance, making weight management very hard. I suggest consulting a specialist rather than trying quick diets.

Your liver basically goes on a strike and refuses to burn any fat while it's busy dealing with alcohol. That's why we get that classic beer belly! Just give the poor organ a vacation from alcohol and watch your pants loosen up.

I had to plan carefully because private hospitals charge so much for liver scans. It's better to get a basic LFT and ultrasound at a government lab or via online discount packages first. Avoiding alcohol and eating home food is free and saves a lot of medical expenses.
