Does alcohol feed cancer?

My friend was telling me about some studies that suggest alcohol can 'feed' cancer cells. I'm concerned about this, as I occasionally enjoy a glass of wine. Is there a genuine link here?

I am not a doctor, but while managing my PCOS, I read a lot about how alcohol increases inflammation and cell damage in the body. It is definitely linked to higher health risks, so limiting it is always a safer option. Take care of yourself.

I panicked so much when I first read about this online and thought even one drink was a death sentence. Actually, chronic and heavy drinking is what increases the risk significantly. Just stay moderate and don't stress yourself out too much.

When I visited my doctor at Max Hospital for a general checkup, we discussed this. He told me clearly that alcohol does increase the risk of several cancers. You should definitely discuss your lifestyle and risks with a good physician directly.

In simple terms, alcohol is classified as a carcinogen and over time, it damage cells which can lead to complications. If you have a family history of cancer, it is best to cut it down or avoid it entirely. Keep your health checks yearly.
