Does alcohol destroy your liver?

My brother's drinking habits are getting out of control, and we're all very worried about his health. Specifically, we're scared about his liver. Can alcohol really destroy your liver completely if consumed excessively?

I can't give medical details, but my uncle was a daily drinker and was diagnosed with severe liver cirrhosis. After he quit alcohol completely and shifted to clean home-cooked meals, his health stabilized a lot. Seeing that made our whole family stay away from drinks.

Our poor liver is basically doing overtime shifts without pay while we keep sending down drinks every weekend. If we don't give it a break, it's definitely going to quit on us one day! Time to swap the beer for some actual water and sleep.

We see so many warnings about liver damage, but honestly, you don't realize how real it is until you see someone in your family suffer from it. My dad had to completely stop drinking due to a fatty liver scare. It is definitely not worth the risk.

It is incredibly heavy to process the fear of liver damage, especially if you have been using alcohol to cope with stress. Your worry is completely valid, and it takes a lot of courage to ask these hard questions. Please take it one step at a time, your health is worth it.

I was reading about liver regeneration today and it's amazing how much the liver can heal if we stop drinking early enough. But chronic heavy alcohol over many years creates permanent scar tissue called cirrhosis. It is definitely a strong warning to stay within limits.

I was diagnosed with alcoholic fatty liver stage 2 just six months ago due to my heavy drinking. I stopped alcohol cold turkey, started walking daily, and my recent ultrasound reports show that my liver has recovered beautifully. It is possible to heal if you act on time!

Yes, long-term excessive alcohol is very harmful to the liver and can cause irreversible damage. Please prioritize your well-being and try to reduce your intake. Wishing you strength.
