Does alcohol aggravate psoriasis?

My psoriasis acts up sometimes, and a friend mentioned that alcohol can be a trigger. I do enjoy a drink occasionally, so I wanted to ask. Does alcohol truly aggravate psoriasis flare-ups?

I was researching this because my cousin has psoriasis. Apparently, alcohol triggers inflammatory cytokines in the body, which can cause sudden and severe skin flare-ups. It is definitely something to avoid.

Yes, alcohol increases systemic inflammation and worsens psoriasis. Try substituting drinks with fresh coconut water to keep your skin hydrated.

Managing skin flare-ups during busy work weeks is extremely frustrating. Alcohol is a proven trigger that dehydrates your skin and lowers medication efficacy. Cut it out entirely to save time on dermatologist visits.

I have lived with psoriasis for a decade and can confidently say alcohol is a major trigger. When I stopped drinking, my red patches cleared up significantly. Focus on a gluten-free diet and use a heavy ceramide moisturizer daily.

Oh god, yes, even a small drink makes me worry so much about my skin breaking out in red patches the next day. The anxiety of having a flare-up makes the psoriasis even worse! Please try to avoid it for your own peace of mind.

Look, if you keep drinking, your skin is going to keep flaring up. Psoriasis needs internal cooling, and alcohol does the exact opposite by adding heat and toxins. Put the glass down and take care of your body.
