Does aimovig cause weight gain?

I'm considering starting a new medication called Aimovig for my headaches. I'm quite conscious about my weight, so I wanted to ask, does Aimovig cause weight gain?

Honestly, with my migraine gone, I started enjoying my butter chicken and biryani so much more, so that's where my weight gain came from! The medicine itself doesn't directly pile on kilos for most people. Just watch what you are eating once you start feeling better, haha.

I completely understand how stressful this is because I also cried looking at the scale after starting my treatment. It is so frustrating when you are trying to get rid of pain but feel like your body is changing. Just remember your mental peace and pain-free days are also very important, so don't be too hard on yourself.

You will find a hundred different answers on internet forums claiming all sorts of side effects. Don't trust random claims or stop your injections based on what people say here. Talk directly to your neurologist and ask them if weight gain is a documented side effect for your specific health profile.

Take a breath, it's going to be okay. Clinical trials don't list weight gain as a common side effect of Aimovig, though some patients feel a bit sluggish or change their eating habits once the pain stops. Don't let this fear stop you from getting your migraine treatment, your health comes first.

Haan na, even I was so worried about this before starting. But touchwood, I didn't gain any weight because of Aimovig, though thoda bloating sometimes happens. Just maintain a normal routine and try to do light walking, it will keep your weight in check and help with migraine too.
