Does adrenal insufficiency cause weight gain?

I was recently told I might have adrenal insufficiency. I've also been gaining weight, especially around my middle, even though I haven't changed my diet much. Is it possible that adrenal insufficiency causes weight gain?

Usually, it causes weight loss because the body's energy levels are low. Stay positive, keep your mind calm, and let the doctors heal your body with proper care.

True adrenal insufficiency usually leads to weight loss, while the opposite condition, high cortisol, causes weight gain. Keep tracking your active energy and discuss your symptoms with an endocrinologist.

Actually, adrenal insufficiency typically causes weight loss and poor appetite, not weight gain. I hope you get clarity from your doctor soon.

Dealing with chronic fatigue and hormone issues is so exhausting and emotionally draining. Don't worry about weight changes right now, just focus on getting your cortisol levels checked.

I was researching this because of some symptoms my friend had. It turns out that weight loss, fatigue, and low blood pressure are the main symptoms of this condition, not weight gain.
