Does adenomyosis cause weight gain?

My doctor told me I have adenomyosis, and since then I feel like I've gained some weight, especially around my belly. Could this condition be the reason for my weight gain? I'm really trying to understand what's happening to my body.

Don't stress too much about the scale right now. Adenomyosis causes a lot of bloating and water retention, which makes you feel heavier, but focus on healing your body first.

Actually yaar, it makes your stomach look so bloated, like a proper pouch. The hormonal imbalance and pain make it so hard to work out, so weight gain happens naturally.

Beta, the swelling in the uterus causes heavy bloating in the lower abdomen. Drink warm ginger or fennel tea daily to help soothe the digestion and reduce the heavy feeling.

I track my cycle and weight trends on my Garmin app. Hormonal fluctuations and inflammation from adenomyosis definitely lead to water retention, so focus on tracking your measurements rather than just weight.

I kept ignoring my expanding waistline thinking it was just age-related weight gain, but it was actually a severely enlarged uterus. Please go get a proper pelvic ultrasound done soon.

I was just diagnosed with this last week and I've been feeling very heavy lately. Does the bloating go away after treatment, or do we have to manage this permanently?

It is so heartbreaking to see your body change and swell up no matter what you eat. Please know you are not alone in this struggle, and it is the disease causing this, not your lack of effort.

I totally get it, the constant bloating makes you feel so uncomfortable in your own clothes. It is incredibly common with adenomyosis due to high estrogen levels and inflammation.

My adenomyosis led to severe heavy bleeding and anemia, which made me too weak to move, leading to weight gain. Please consult a specialist to manage the hormones before it causes other complications.
