Do wigs cause hair loss?

I've been noticing some hair thinning lately and was thinking about wearing a wig. However, a friend told me that wigs can actually cause more hair loss. Is there any truth to this, or is it just a myth?

I totally understand how stressful hair thinning can be, and wanting to wear a wig to feel confident is completely valid. They don't cause hair loss if worn correctly, but make sure your scalp gets time to breathe. Try to gentle on yourself, don't let the worry get to you.

I keep searching about hair fall remedies every day and it makes me so anxious. From what I've gathered, cheap adhesives and rough caps can definitely irritate the scalp and cause breakage. Please buy a breathable one and don't wear it 24/7 just to be safe.

If you wear them too tight, the constant pulling can damage your hair roots, which is called traction alopecia. Along with being careful with wigs, make sure you are eating enough protein like paneer and sprouts. Healthy hair needs good nutrition from inside first.

They don't directly cause baldness, but using heavy glues or wearing them daily without washing your scalp can block hair follicles. Try tracking your scalp health and hygiene just like you track your steps. Keep it clean and give your hair breaks.

Honestly, my own hair is receding so fast that I might need a wig soon anyway! But seriously, if you glue those things on your head like it's permanent furniture, it's bound to pull out some real hair. Just give your head some fresh air sometimes.
