Do weight gain shakes make you fat?

I've been trying to gain weight in a healthy way, and some people at my gym suggested weight gain shakes. My only concern is, do these shakes make you fat instead of building muscle? I want to make sure I choose the right one.

I used weight gain shakes last year when I was severely underweight. If you don't workout alongside, they will definitely just add fat around your belly instead of healthy muscle.

Please be very careful with these weight gain shakes as they often contain huge amounts of hidden sugars. For anyone with a family history of diabetes, this can spike insulin and cause rapid fat gain.

Yes, if you drink them without heavy exercise, they just store as fat because of high sugar.

Rather than relying on processed shakes which can disturb your digestive fire, try natural options like banana and date smoothies with almonds. They nourish the body gently and naturally.

My doctor clearly warned me that many commercial weight gain shakes are packed with cheap sugars and maltodextrin. Consuming them without a proper workout plan will lead to unhealthy visceral fat accumulation.
