Do turmeric supplements cause liver damage?

I've started taking turmeric supplements for their anti-inflammatory benefits, as recommended by a relative. However, I recently read something online suggesting they might cause liver damage. Is there a risk of liver damage from taking turmeric supplements regularly?

Haan na, too much of anything can be bad for the body. Normal haldi in our daily food is totally safe, but high-dose supplements can sometimes put pressure on your liver. It is always better to take them only if your doctor advised it, ho na.

In our family, we have always used a pinch of natural turmeric in warm milk for everything. But my doctor recently warned me that commercial supplements have very high concentrations of curcumin, which can affect the liver if taken blindly. Please check with your doctor before starting them.

Because of my thyroid condition, my doctor monitors all my organ functions closely and advised against self-prescribing herbal supplements. High-dose turmeric can interfere with medications and strain the liver. It's best to do regular blood tests and only take what your doctor prescribes.

I recently asked a liver specialist at Apollo Hospital about these trending herbal supplements. He told me that unregulated high-dose curcumin tablets have indeed been linked to liver inflammation in some cases. You should get a proper advice from a doctor before taking such pills.

Why go for heavy chemical capsules when you can get the benefits naturally? A tiny bit of raw turmeric boiled in water or milk is excellent and completely safe. Please avoid these high-potency supplements as they can be too harsh on your stomach and liver.

A lot of guys in the gym take curcumin pills for muscle recovery, but excess doses can definitely strain your liver. Honestly, a balanced diet and proper rest will do much more for your recovery than loading up on high-dose supplements. Keep it simple and safe.

Look, eating haldi in dal is fine, but popping 1000mg pills everyday is calling for trouble. Your liver has to process all these concentrated supplements and it can get damaged over time. Stop taking them blindly and talk to a real doctor first.
