Do tubal pregnancies show on pregnancy tests?

I've been having some unusual pain recently, and I'm a bit worried about the possibility of a tubal pregnancy. I took a home pregnancy test, and it was positive. Would a tubal pregnancy still show up as positive on a regular pregnancy test?

Yes, they do show as positive on home kits because the hormone level rises anyway. If you are asking because of severe one-sided lower abdominal pain or light bleeding, please do not wait and go to the emergency room immediately.

I totally get it, this must be an incredibly stressful and scary time for you. Yes, a home urine test will show positive because your body still produces the hCG hormone. Please make sure to get an ultrasound done to confirm the location of the pregnancy.

The test will show positive as the body's natural hormones react. Please keep your breathing deep and calm, but do not rely on home tests alone. Go to a hospital immediately for a proper scan, as safety comes first.

I know how heartbreaking and confusing this situation is. The test will indeed show positive, which makes the reality of a tubal pregnancy even harder to process. Please reach out to your doctor and seek emotional support too.

Yes, ectopic or tubal pregnancies trigger a positive result on standard tests due to hCG presence. However, since a tubal pregnancy is a critical medical emergency, any sharp pain or unusual bleeding means you should see a doctor immediately.
