Do statins cause liver damage?

My neighbour recently told me that statins can be really bad for the liver. I'm quite worried now since I've been taking them for a few years for my cholesterol. Is it true that statins can cause liver damage?

In clinical practice, serious liver damage from statins is extremely rare, though a mild and temporary rise in liver enzymes is sometimes seen. We always recommend getting a baseline Liver Function Test (LFT) done before starting. Just keep up with your routine blood work as advised by your doctor.

I have been taking statins for nearly fifteen years now, and my liver is perfectly healthy. In my experience, as long as you eat simple food and get your annual blood tests done, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Trust your cardiologist.

Look, statins are essential to prevent heart attacks, and real liver damage is very rare. Don't stop your prescribed medicine based on random fears. Just do your routine blood tests and let your doctor handle the rest.

Haan, log internet par padhkar darr jaate hain, but serious damage toh bohot rare hai na. Apne doctor se milkar regular LFT test karwa lo, sab clear ho jayega tension ke bina.

Eating fresh amla and drinking warm water daily helps keep the digestive system healthy. However, if you develop serious symptoms like yellowing of eyes or severe stomach pain, please don't try home remedies. Go to a hospital immediately to get your liver checked.
