Do protein supplements cause hair loss?

I've been taking protein supplements for my fitness routine. Lately, I've noticed my hair thinning quite a bit. Could the supplements be the cause? Do protein supplements cause hair loss, or is something else going on?

Actually, protein is the building block of hair, so a lack of it can cause hair fall. Pure vegetarian supplements like whey or pea protein shouldn't cause hair loss. Just make sure your supplement doesn't have chemical additives or hormones.

I faced severe hair thinning last year when I started a heavy gym routine with protein shakes. It turned out to be a vitamin D and B12 deficiency, not the protein's fault. Once I corrected those deficiencies, my hair grew back fine.

I started taking plant protein two weeks ago and I feel like my hair brush has more hair than usual. Has anyone else experienced hair fall immediately after starting protein supplements, or is it just my imagination?

I was planning to buy my first tub of protein next week but now I am scared after reading about hair fall. Does this happen with all brands, or only some specific ones? Please help me out.

Chill bro, don't stress too much about it! Pure whey protein won't make your hair fall out. Just buy from a reputed brand and keep your diet balanced. Stressing about hair loss will actually cause more hair fall than the protein itself!

I totally get it, seeing hair fall out is so stressful and makes you want to stop everything you are taking. But protein itself is good for hair growth. Don't stress too much, it might just be weather changes or water quality in your area.
