Do prenatals help with hair loss?

After my delivery, I've been noticing a lot of hair fall, it's quite concerning. My mother-in-law suggested I continue taking my prenatals for a bit longer, saying they can help. Do prenatals help with hair loss in general, or particularly postpartum?

They only help if your hair loss is due to micronutrient deficiencies like iron, zinc, or biotin. If your nutrition is already on point with a high-protein diet and good fats, prenatals won't make a magical difference. Focus on your overall macro intake first.

My hair was falling out in clumps post-typhoid, and my doctor suggested prenatals even though I wasn't pregnant because of the high folic acid and iron. Honestly, it worked wonders for me and my hair fall stopped in two months. But do ask a professional before starting.

At this age, my hair is leaving me faster than my kids leave the room when I ask them to study! I tried my wife's prenatal pills for a month hoping for a miracle, but nothing happened. Guess it only works if you actually have a deficiency, not for old-age balding.

Prenatals contain biotin, folic acid, and iron which are great for hair follicles, especially if your blood reports show low ferritin levels. You can track your daily nutrient intake on health apps to see if you are missing these. If yes, these supplements will definitely support hair growth.

Yes child, they do help a lot of women because they are packed with iron and folic acid which boost blood circulation to the scalp. However, please remember that postpartum hair loss is hormonal and might still happen despite the vitamins. Be patient with your body.

I was looking into this because my hair is thinning quite a bit lately. From what I read, prenatals have high doses of certain vitamins that might be too much for non-pregnant people if taken long-term. Better to get a simple multi or get a blood test done first.
