Do pregnancy tests go out of date?

Someone gave me a pregnancy test kit, but I noticed the box shows a manufacturing date from a while back. I'm worried it might be past its shelf life. Do pregnancy tests go out of date and become ineffective?

Yes, they definitely go out of date, sister. My mother always told me to check everything carefully before using, and our family doctor also says expired kits can give wrong results. It is best to buy a fresh one from the medical shop.

When my daughter was trying to conceive, we found some old kits in our cupboard. I made sure to throw them out because expired tests can show wrong lines and cause heartbreak or false hope. Always buy a new one for peace of mind.

Honestly, yes, they do go out of date. I once used an expired one and the control line didn't even show up properly. It is much safer to just spend a few rupees on a fresh kit so you get a clear and reliable result.

Yes, they expire. Don't waste your time trying to figure out if an old test kit is working or not. Just order a fresh one online or grab it from a local chemist; it takes five minutes and saves you a lot of unnecessary confusion.

They expire because the chemical reagents degrade. Since I have thyroid issues, I have to be very precise with my health tracking. If you are tracking your cycle, always use fresh kits and consult your gynaecologist for a proper blood test to be sure.

Yes, they do. I once relied on an old test kit that was past its date, got a false negative, and delayed my doctor's visit, which caused complications later. Please don't take chances with old tests; buy a fresh one and consult your doctor.

Yes, they have a shelf life of about 2 to 3 years. Just like we monitor our blood pressure apparatus, we must ensure our diagnostic tools are accurate. If the kit is expired, throw it away and get a fresh one to avoid unnecessary stress.
