Do opiates cause liver damage?

I've been on a low dose of opiates for my back pain for a few years now. My doctor checks my liver function occasionally, which made me think. Do opiates cause liver damage, especially with long-term use, and what should I be looking out for?

Pure opiates themselves don't directly cause liver damage, but they are often combined with paracetamol in painkillers, which is very harsh on the liver in high doses. To protect your liver, avoid outside oily food and drink fresh beetroot or amla juice to support natural detoxification.

Any heavy medicine taken for a long time can stress your metabolic system, just like thyroid medications do. It is absolutely essential to have regular blood checkups and follow up with your doctor. Never change your dosage on your own.

Honestly, my liver is probably more worried about my lack of sleep and late-night black coffees than anything else! But yes, if you are taking heavy prescription pain meds, they do put pressure on your liver. Keep your doctor in the loop and don't pop them like candy.

Oh my god, reading about liver issues always makes me so nervous! While pure opiates are processed by the liver, they don't usually cause damage unless abused or mixed with other drugs. But still, please get a liver function test (LFT) done just to be completely sure and have peace of mind.

Haan, bilkul dhyan rakhna padta hai. Heavy painkillers ka liver par asar ho sakta hai, especially agar regular liyo toh, na. Dr. se consult karke hi lijiye aur beech beech mein test karwate rahiye.
