Do nicotine patches work for weight loss?

I'm trying to manage my weight and exploring different options. I heard someone mention that nicotine patches could be effective for losing weight. I was wondering if this claim holds any scientific basis and if they actually work for weight loss.

I completely understand why you'd ask this because weight struggle is so stressful and we look for any help. But please don't use patches for this. They are meant only for smoking cessation and can cause anxiety and heart racing if used wrongly.

No, they don't work for weight loss. While nicotine is a mild stimulant that suppresses appetite, using patches without a smoking history is dangerous and highly addictive. Focus on meal prep and regular workouts instead.

I was thinking about this too because my cravings are out of control. But then I got scared about getting addicted to nicotine. Has anyone else tried this and had bad side effects like dizziness?

When I asked my specialist at Manipal Hospital about appetite suppressants, they strictly warned against nicotine patches. They are therapeutic devices for smokers, not diet aids. Please consult a proper doctor before putting chemical patches on.

Son, do not play with these chemical things for weight. In our times, we controlled weight with warm water, lemon, honey, and daily walks. These modern patches are only for those trying to leave the cigarette habit.

Don't experiment with patches for weight loss. I once took some random pills to lose weight fast, ignored the rapid heartbeat, and ended up hospitalized with severe arrhythmia. Get a proper health checkup and follow a doctor's advice.
