Do muscle relaxers cause weight gain?

I've been taking muscle relaxers for my chronic back pain for a few months now. I've noticed I'm putting on a bit of weight. Could there be a connection? Do muscle relaxers cause weight gain?

I was prescribed muscle relaxants for two weeks due to a severe back spasm. While taking them, I felt extremely drowsy and mostly stayed in bed, which made me a bit bloated. I didn't gain permanent fat, but the lack of activity surely made me feel heavier.

Oh my god, those pills make you so sleepy that you just want to lie down on the sofa with a bowl of chips! The medicine itself doesn't have calories, but the laziness and munchies it brings definitely don't help your waistline.

If you are noticing sudden weight gain, don't just blame the muscle relaxers. I had a similar issue and realized it was actually my thyroid levels acting up. Keep track of your weight and get a thyroid profile test done to be absolutely sure.

Haan na, they make your whole body so relaxed and lazy. Actually, because you can't walk or exercise when you are on these painkillers, you might put on a little weight. Just try to eat light food during recovery.

These English medicines make your body very heavy and tired, beta. Because you sleep so much after taking them, the body doesn't burn the food properly. Just eat simple dal-roti and rest until your back pain is cured.
