Do hair wax cause hair loss?

My friends and I use hair wax regularly to style our hair. Lately, I've noticed my hair thinning a bit around the temples. Could it be because of the daily hair wax application?

My brother used to face a lot of hair fall when using styling wax because it was clogging his pores. He switched to water-based wax and started washing his hair with a mild shampoo daily, which helped a lot. Just make sure you keep your scalp clean!

I used heavy wax every day during my college years and started noticing major hair thinning. The trick is to apply it only on the tips of your hair, never rub it into your scalp, and wash it out completely before sleeping. Once I started doing this, my hair health improved significantly.

Bro, I use wax for every college event. It doesn't cause hair fall unless you buy those cheap 50-rupee brands. Just get a decent water-soluble one and make sure you wash your hair properly so there's no sticky residue left.

My elders always advise applying a drop of coconut oil before styling to protect the hair from harsh chemicals. Our doctor also mentioned that while wax is fine occasionally, daily usage on weak roots can cause traction breakage. It is better to keep it minimal.

Using hair wax won't directly cause genetic baldness, but if you don't wash it out, it can lead to scalp infections and contact dermatitis. If you notice persistent itching, dandruff, or patches of hair loss, please visit a dermatologist for a proper examination.

Look, most hair waxes contain heavy chemicals and silicones that can suffocate your hair follicles if left on the scalp. Always wash it off at the end of the day. If you must use it, go for organic or natural waxes that don't have harsh additives.
