Do feet shrink with weight loss?

I'm trying to lose weight and someone told me that even my feet will shrink. Is this actually true? Do feet shrink with weight loss, or does their size generally remain the same?

When we practice yoga and lose weight, the blood circulation improves and water retention in the lower limbs reduces. This makes the feet look slimmer and more compact. Practicing daily Vajrasana also helps in reducing overall heaviness from the lower body.

Haan na, even I was shocked when my slippers started coming off after my weight loss journey. The fat on the feet actually goes away, making them look smaller. It is quite common, ho na.

My physician explained that feet contain a lot of soft tissue and fat pads. When you are in a calorie deficit, you lose subcutaneous fat from the entire body, including those foot pads. Additionally, less weight means the foot tendons don't flatten out as much under pressure.

Yes, foot shrinkage is a very real side effect of weight loss. It is mostly due to losing fat around the instep and heels, plus less pressure on your arches. Don't buy expensive shoes until your weight stabilizes.

I totally get it, it feels so weird when your favourite heels suddenly start slipping off your feet. You work so hard to lose weight and then realizing your shoe size has also changed is such an unexpected surprise!
