Do expired pregnancy tests give false positives?

I took a home pregnancy test today, and it showed a faint positive line. The problem is, I just realized the kit expired a few months ago. Could an expired test actually give me a false positive result?

With PCOS, my cycles are already so irregular that I rely heavily on tests. Expired kits can definitely have degraded chemicals, leading to false or faint lines. It's always safer to buy a fresh kit to avoid unnecessary emotional stress.

I know how heartbreaking or stressful a confusing test result can be when you are eagerly waiting. An expired test is highly unreliable and can easily give wrong positive or negative lines. Please don't put yourself through that anxiety; just get a new one.

The chemical reagents in pregnancy strips lose their sensitivity after the expiration date, which can cause erratic results. For safety and peace of mind, do not rely on an old kit; purchase a fresh test or get a beta-hCG blood test done at a lab.

Just like protein powders or supplements, using expired medical kits is never a good idea as the active components break down. Get a fresh pack from the pharmacy and focus on keeping your body healthy and stress-free.

A standard pregnancy test kit costs only 50 to 100 rupees at any chemist shop. There is no point using an old expired one and getting confused. Just buy a fresh one today and do the test first thing in the morning.
