Do energy drinks damage kidney?

Drinking energy drinks almost every day during exam time to cope with stress and lack of sleep, my mother has been warning me that these drinks are very bad for my kidneys. Can regular consumption of energy drinks actually damage my kidneys?

My elders always warn against drinking anything highly chemical, preferring tender coconut water instead. When I asked our family doctor, he also agreed that the high caffeine and taurine in energy drinks can strain the kidneys if consumed regularly. It is better to avoid them.

My son used to drink these during his exams until he developed severe back pain, which we found out was due to mild kidney strain and dehydration. I immediately stopped allowing them in the house. Please encourage your children to stick to milk, lassi, or water instead.

Having interacted with many people in this health group, I can tell you that kidney strain from energy drinks is a real risk. They act as diuretics, which means they dehydrate your body quickly, forcing your kidneys to work harder. Keeping them completely out of your routine is the safest bet.

When I had a checkup at Apollo, the doctor specifically warned against consuming pre-workouts and energy drinks due to their impact on kidney filtration. It is best to consult a good urologist or general physician to understand how these drinks might affect your specific health profile.

As someone managing high blood pressure, I stay away from energy drinks because they spike BP, which directly damages kidney blood vessels over time. Regular BP checkups and a low-sodium lifestyle are crucial. Please don't risk your kidneys with these synthetic drinks.

I had no idea energy drinks could hurt our kidneys, I only thought they made the heart beat faster. Can having just one can a week also cause damage, or is it only for heavy drinkers? I would love to understand this better.

Our organs work so tirelessly to keep us alive and healthy. Protecting them by consuming pure, natural drinks is a beautiful way of showing gratitude to our body. Stay positive, drink lots of water, and keep your body free from chemical toxins.

I ignored minor back pain for months while continuing to drink energy drinks, thinking it was just work stress, until I had a severe kidney infection. Don't make the mistake I did. Get a basic routine urine and blood test done to check your kidney health before it gets serious.

Please take this seriously; I ended up with painful kidney stones and high creatinine levels after drinking energy drinks regularly during night shifts. It was a painful wake-up call. If you are experiencing any lower back pain or changes in urine color, see a doctor right away.

I am always cautious about what I drink because of my PCOS, as insulin spikes affect my whole body. The intense sugar and chemical mix in energy drinks can definitely strain your system, including the kidneys. It's safer to avoid them and choose clean options.

A clean, plant-based diet should naturally give you energy without needing canned drinks. The artificial colorings, preservatives, and high sugar in these drinks load your kidneys with unnecessary toxins. Try green smoothies or sattu drinks for a healthy and safe energy boost instead.

It's always better to keep your kidneys happy by staying hydrated with plain water! Occasional treats might be fine, but making energy drinks a habit is definitely not kidney-friendly. Keep shining and choose healthier drinks! 💧✨
