Do cysts in ovaries cause weight gain?

My friend with PCOS told me that her ovarian cysts are the reason for her weight gain and how difficult it is to lose it. I also have cysts in my ovaries and have been struggling with my weight. Could this be the reason?

Ah, the joy of being a woman! These tiny ovarian cysts come with a free package of unexplained weight gain and bloating. It is mostly due to the hormonal circus inside us. Get them checked, otherwise you'll keep blaming your rotis for the weight.

The hormonal issues that cause ovarian cysts, like high insulin or PCOS, also make you gain weight easily. I face the same issue with my thyroid. You must get your thyroid, HbA1c, and prolactin tested regularly and follow up with your doctor to manage this.

Yes, they cause bloating and weight gain because of the hormones. Try to cut down on maida and heavy sweets for a few weeks, and drink warm water. A simple daily walk of 30 minutes can help balance things out alongside your doctor's medicine.

Do not let this physical change worry your mind, stay positive and take care of your health. The body goes through many phases when hormones are out of balance, leading to weight changes. Eat pure food, practice deep breathing, and consult a kind doctor.

This is a very common concern in this group. Ovarian cysts are highly linked to hormonal imbalances which naturally affect your weight. The best practical approach is to get a pelvic ultrasound and a blood panel done so your gynecologist can target the root cause.
