Do cortisone shots cause weight gain?

I've been getting cortisone shots for my shoulder pain for a few months now, and it helps a lot. However, I've noticed my weight slowly increasing. Could these cortisone shots be causing me to gain weight?

Hey, don't stress too much about the weight part. A single shot in the shoulder or knee is very localized, so it won't make you gain weight like oral tablets do.

My dad got one for his tennis elbow last month. He didn't put on any weight at all, but his pain went away completely in like two days.

Don't believe all the horror stories on online forums about sudden weight gain. Joint shots act locally; just verify the treatment schedule with your doctor to stay safe.

Ghabrane ki koi baat nahi hai, mere ghutne ke dard ke liye bhi doctor ne diya tha. Shareer me koi sudjan ya vazan nahi badha, dard me bohot aaram mila.

If the doctor allows, continuing your light daily walking routine after the initial rest period will easily offset any minor water retention you might experience.

My teenage daughter had to get one for a severe ligament swelling. We were very worried about side effects, but she had no weight gain or mood changes at all.

I just got a cortisone shot in my heel three weeks ago. There was zero weight gain, only a slight bit of facial bloating for one day, but the relief from pain is totally worth it.

These modern injections should only be used when pain is unbearable. For daily management, gentle oil massages with warm sesame oil and ginger tea can help reduce swelling naturally.
