Do collagen supplements help with loose skin after weight loss?

After losing a lot of weight through diet and exercise, I'm now struggling with some loose skin, especially on my arms and tummy. Someone suggested collagen supplements could help tighten it up. Is there any truth to this?

At my age, skin naturally loses its tightness, and I've seen many youngsters struggle with loose skin after losing weight too fast. Collagen helps a little bit with elasticity, but you must give your body time. Be patient, eat fresh vegetables, and don't rush the process.

Listen, collagen powder is not some magic glue that will stick your skin back. It helps slightly with skin texture, but don't expect miracles. You need to focus on lifting weights to fill that gap with muscle, and stay hydrated.

I lost about 25 kg last year and had some loose skin around my belly. I took marine collagen for six months; it made my skin look healthier and smoother, but it didn't completely tighten the loose areas. Lifting weights in the gym is what actually made the biggest difference for me.

My dermatologist explained that while collagen supplements can support skin hydration and mild elasticity, they cannot fully fix significant loose skin after massive weight loss. Severe loose skin is a structural issue. He advised focusing on strength training to build muscle underneath.

I've been reading so many reviews about this because I'm terrified of getting loose skin after my diet. Some people swear by collagen and others say it's a waste of money. I guess it's worth trying a small tub to see if it works for your body, just don't stress too much.

In our time, we relied on massage with warm coconut oil and eating almond paste for skin elasticity. These modern collagen powders can help, but do not forget the power of drinking enough water and massaging the skin gently to improve circulation.

If you have a busy job, you want practical solutions. Collagen can support your skin from the inside, but don't expect overnight results. Combine it with a good protein intake and basic home workouts if you don't have time for the gym.

Be kind to your body, it has gone through a big change by losing weight. Collagen can nourish your skin, but also embrace your body as it is. Stay positive, eat fresh fruits, and let nature heal your skin in its own time.

When you lose weight, especially if you have high BP, doing it slowly through lifestyle changes is key. Fast weight loss causes more loose skin. Collagen might support skin health, but keep checking your BP and consult your doctor about safe exercise routines.

I tried all sorts of home remedies like aloe vera massages and mustard oil after my pregnancy weight loss, alongside collagen. The collagen definitely helped my skin feel softer, but keeping up with hydration and massage is what really helped my skin recover its shape slowly.
