Do cavities show on xray?

My dentist usually takes X-rays during my check-ups, even when I don't have any pain. I always wondered what they are looking for precisely. Do cavities actually show up clearly on an X-ray, even small ones that aren't visible to the eye?

Yes, they do. Just as an X-ray reveals the internal state of our bones, dental X-rays show the hidden decay between teeth that we cannot see with the naked eye. It is a safe and necessary step for proper care.

Absolutely, they show up as dark spots on the scan. I always keep my dental X-rays logged on my health app to track any changes. It is the best way to catch decay between teeth early.

Yeah, they do. I had no pain but the dentist did an X-ray during my checkup and showed me a hidden cavity between two teeth. It literally looked like a small dark shadow on the screen.

Yes, dental X-rays are excellent for detecting early decay. Eating a simple diet rich in calcium helps keep the teeth strong, but only an X-ray can confirm if there is a cavity hiding under the surface.

Yes, the X-ray is very helpful for the doctor to see the exact depth of the decay. While home care keeps the mouth clean, we must rely on these scientific tools to know what is happening inside the tooth.
