Do calcium supplements cause weight gain?

I started taking calcium supplements a few months ago for my bone density. Lately, I feel like I've put on a few extra kilos and I'm wondering if the supplements could be a reason for this weight gain.

Not at all! In fact, some studies say calcium actually helps in maintaining a healthy weight. Just stay active and enjoy your healthy meals!

Calcium supplements themselves have zero calories, so they cannot cause fat gain. If you are feeling bloated, it might be due to the specific compound like calcium carbonate. Try getting your calcium from curd and green leafy vegetables instead.

Beta, tablets can sometimes cause gas and constipation, which makes the stomach feel heavy and bloated. Instead of pills, eat ragi rotis and drink warm milk with a little honey. Traditional foods are always easier on the stomach.

I have been taking calcium for my gym recovery and haven't gained any weight from it. It is probably just water weight or some other diet change. Don't worry, these supplements don't have calories.

I also panicked when I felt bloated after starting calcium tablets and thought I was gaining weight. But my doctor explained it was just mild constipation from the pill, not real fat. Drinking more water and taking it with food solved the issue completely.

No, they do not cause weight gain. Just ensure you stay well hydrated to prevent any bloating or constipation.

Haan, weight gain toh nahi hota calcium se, but bloating zaroor ho sakti hai na. Make sure you are taking the right type of tablet. Citrate form is usually lighter on the stomach than carbonate, so ask your doctor once.
