Do blood sugar spikes cause weight gain?

I've been noticing that after I eat certain foods, my blood sugar spikes really high, and then I feel really tired. My friend told me that these spikes can actually make you gain weight. Is it true that blood sugar spikes contribute to weight gain?

Beta, when your blood sugar spikes frequently, your body stores that extra sugar as fat, which eventually leads to weight gain. Try to drink warm water with a little methi powder in the morning to help control sugar naturally, but make sure you are regular with your doctor's advice and medicines.

As someone managing Type 2 diabetes, I can tell you that spikes absolutely contribute to weight gain. When sugar shoots up, insulin follows, and that locks your body into fat-storage mode while making you crave more carbs. I highly recommend tracking your meals and consulting a diabetologist for proper guidance.

My son has insulin resistance, and we noticed his weight kept increasing whenever his sugar spiked after heavy carb meals. We had to carefully manage his diet by adding more fiber and protein to prevent those sudden spikes. Please consult a pediatric endocrinologist or a good nutritionist to help plan meals.

Yes, frequent blood sugar spikes lead to high insulin levels, which makes the body store fat. Try to focus on low-GI foods.

Yes, they definitely do because insulin levels go up and store the excess sugar as fat. It's a very common cycle.
