Yes, some BP tablets definitely cause fluid retention and weight gain. Please discuss with your doctor to change the prescription.

Ram Ram ji. Haan, mere bade bhai ko bhi ye dawai shuru hone ke baad thoda sharir mein bhari-pan lagne laga tha. Doctor sahab ne bataya ki pani jama hone se aisa hota hai. Aap bilkul chinta mat karein, doctor ko batayenge toh woh koi aur goli likh denge.

I have been dealing with hypertension for 8 years now. Yes, beta-blockers can cause some weight gain by slowing down your heart rate and metabolism. My tip is to cut down on extra sodium, avoid processed foods, and make sure you walk at least 5,000 steps daily. It keeps the weight stable.

It's true that certain BP meds can affect your metabolism slightly, but it doesn't mean you can't stay fit. Focus on a balanced diet with good protein and fiber, and keep up with consistent strength training or cardio. Don't let the medicine be an excuse to stop working out.

Some BP medications can cause water retention, which feels like sudden weight gain. Along with consulting your doctor, try incorporating more potassium-rich vegetarian foods like bananas and coconut water into your diet, and keep your salt intake very low to prevent swelling.

I once ignored sudden weight gain and swelling while on BP tablets, thinking it was just normal fat, and it ended up straining my kidneys. Please don't ignore any such changes in your body. Go get a proper kidney function test and checkup done with your doctor immediately.
