Do antibiotics cause weight gain?

I had to take antibiotics for a sinus infection last month, and since then, I feel like I've gained a little weight. Could there be a connection between taking antibiotics and weight gain? I'm really trying to watch my figure, so this is a concern.

I don't think the pills directly make you fat, but when you recover and your appetite comes back, you end up craving all your favorite street foods! Just control those post-recovery cravings and you'll be fine.

Antibiotics don't have calories to make you gain weight. But they do disturb your stomach health, which might cause bloating. Having home-made dahi daily is a cheap and effective way to fix your gut and clear the bloating.

I noticed some bloating and scale weight gain after a heavy 10-day course last year. My doctor explained that antibiotics wipe out good gut bacteria, which slows down digestion. Taking a good probiotic for a week fixed the issue for me.

I also felt a bit bloated and heavier after my medication. Just stick to light, home-cooked food for a few days and the water weight will go away naturally.
