Do and don'ts of pregnancy?

I just found out I'm expecting, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the information out there. My family and friends have given so many tips. Could someone share a general list of important do's and don'ts during pregnancy?

Beta, always eat freshly cooked warm meals and avoid stale food. Don't lift heavy buckets or bend suddenly, and you can drink coconut water in the morning to keep acidity away, but always consult your doctor first.

I know how overwhelming it is with everyone giving different advice, it gave me so much anxiety during my time. Just focus on eating well, taking your prenatal vitamins, and ignore the scary stories people tell you.

Listen, just take it easy and don't stress yourself out with long lists of rules. Do stay hydrated and walk daily, but don't take any medicines without asking your gynaecologist, not even a basic crocin.

Do sleep as much as you can now because once the baby comes, sleep becomes a myth! And don't listen to relatives who tell you to eat for two, it just leads to extra weight that is a nightmare to lose.

Do indulge in your cravings occasionally, but keep them healthy! Don't eat raw or undercooked street food to avoid infections, and stick to clean home-cooked versions of your favorite chaat.

I am just researching this for my sister, and the basic list seems to be avoiding raw papaya, pineapple, and too much caffeine. It is always best to let the gynaecologist give a customized diet chart.

Do practice gentle breathing exercises and butterfly stretches if your doctor permits, as it helps prepare the pelvic muscles. Don't do any deep twists or strenuous postures that put pressure on your abdomen.
