Do all glp 1 cause hair loss?

My doctor suggested a GLP-1 medication for my diabetes and weight management. I've read some reviews online, and a few people mentioned experiencing hair loss. Does every type of GLP-1 medication cause hair loss, or is it specific to certain ones?

It doesn't happen to everyone. Often, the hair shedding is due to rapid weight loss itself rather than the medicine, so maintaining a good protein intake and gentle daily exercise helps keep the body stable.

My mother suggested applying homemade curry leaf oil when I complained of hair fall. However, my doctor explained that any sudden weight loss stress can trigger temporary shedding, and it usually stops on its own.

I am thinking of starting this medication soon but I am terrified of losing my hair. Has anyone here actually experienced heavy hair fall after starting GLP-1 agonists?

Not really, hair loss is usually a side effect of calorie restriction and nutritional deficits during fast weight loss. Make sure you hit your protein goals and don't starve your body while on it.

I completely panicked when I saw extra hair on my brush in the second month. But my doc assured me it was just a temporary phase called telogen effluvium, and true to her word, it stopped and grew back.
