Can zoloft be taken during pregnancy?

I'm currently taking Zoloft for anxiety and depression, and my husband and I are now planning to start a family. Is it safe to continue taking Zoloft during pregnancy, or should I stop?

Many women do take it under strict medical supervision, but please consult your gynecologist and psychiatrist first.

I was actually reading about this online because my wife is on it and we are planning a family. It seems like doctors weigh the benefits against the risks, as untreated anxiety or depression can also affect the pregnancy. It is definitely a decision to make with your specialist.

Hey dear, don't stress too much! A lot of moms-to-be take Zoloft safely to keep their mental health stable. Just have an open chat with your doc, they will manage the dose and make sure both you and the baby are perfectly safe.

I delivered a healthy baby boy six months ago and I stayed on Zoloft throughout my pregnancy under my doctor's guidance. My psychiatrist and gynecologist worked together to keep me on the lowest effective dose, and it went really well. Please don't stop taking it suddenly without asking them.

Beta, during pregnancy, we should try to avoid strong chemical pills as much as possible for the child's safety. Try to keep your mind calm with simple prayers and deep breathing, but always follow whatever your main doctor advises for your health.
