Can you use short term disability for pregnancy?

I'm expecting my first baby next year, and I'm trying to plan my maternity leave. My company has a short-term disability policy. I'm wondering if I can use short-term disability benefits to cover the period around my delivery and recovery from pregnancy.

Haan na, you can definitely use short term disability for pregnancy leave in many companies. It is actually meant to help you rest before and after delivery. Bas HR se pehle hi rules confirm kar lena.

I just returned to work after my maternity leave and used short-term disability for my delivery recovery. The process was quite smooth, but I had to submit my doctor's note to the insurance provider early on. Definitely apply for it.

Please don't push yourself to work if your body is struggling during pregnancy. I ignored my severe fatigue and ended up with complications. If you need to go on short-term disability, talk to your doctor immediately and get the required medical certificate.

In my case, I was able to use short-term disability for 6 weeks of my postpartum recovery. My company had a specific policy for this, and it really helped cover my expenses while I was off work. Check with your company's benefits team.

When my wife had high blood pressure during her third trimester, the doctor advised complete bed rest. She utilized short-term disability to take leave early. Regular BP monitoring and lifestyle changes are key, so don't hesitate to take that leave if advised.
