Can you take tylenol pm during pregnancy?

My wife is pregnant, and she's really struggling with insomnia lately. She used to take Tylenol PM sometimes for sleep before getting pregnant. Can you take Tylenol PM during pregnancy to help with sleep, or is it risky for the baby?

Managing medications during pregnancy is so tricky, especially with thyroid or other issues. You really need to check with your doctor before taking any sleep-aid combinations like Tylenol PM. Regular blood work and doctor follow-ups are the safest way to go.

I was just reading about this on a pregnancy forum yesterday because a friend of mine is struggling with insomnia. It seems some doctors say the sleep-aid part is okay occasionally, but others advise avoiding it. Better to ask your doctor directly to be absolutely sure.

Tylenol PM contains diphenhydramine for sleep, which is generally considered safe, but using it regularly during pregnancy isn't recommended. It's always best to get a green light from your OB-GYN before taking any multi-ingredient OTC drugs.

I totally get it, sleep during pregnancy can be so difficult to find and you feel exhausted. But please consult your doctor before taking any PM medicines. They might suggest a safer routine or lifestyle change for your sleep.

Haan na, pregnancy insomnia is so irritating. But taking sleep medicines without doctor's permission is not safe for the baby, ho na. Just call your gynaecologist's clinic and ask them once before taking it.

I'm also in my second trimester and my sleep is totally gone, but I am too scared to take anything like Tylenol PM. Did any of you ladies take it under your doctor's supervision? Did everything go well with the baby?
