In the hospital where my wife had her delivery, the doctors were very specific about diabetes management. Metformin is sometimes used during pregnancy, but you must ask your gynecologist clearly about your specific dosage.

Taking any diabetes medication during pregnancy requires extreme care. Please get it checked with your doctor to make sure your sugar levels are monitored safely for the baby.

I had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy and my doctor put me on metformin. It really helped keep my sugar under control, but please only take it if your doctor has prescribed it to you.

Metformin is quite commonly prescribed for gestational diabetes or PCOS during pregnancy. Just make sure you track your sugar levels daily and share the log with your endocrinologist.

Just like managing thyroid during pregnancy, managing sugar requires regular blood tests. Make sure you follow up with your doctor frequently to adjust the metformin dose if needed.
