Can you take lithium during pregnancy?

About two months into my pregnancy, and I've been taking Lithium for my bipolar disorder for a while now. My gynaecologist mentioned some concerns about medicines during pregnancy. Is it safe to continue my Lithium?

I agree with everyone saying this is serious. Lithium during pregnancy definitely needs very close monitoring by both your psychiatrist and gynecologist.

Oh, this is such a stressful situation to be in. Has anyone else here had to manage their psychiatric meds during pregnancy? I would be so scared, please consult your doctor immediately.

I have to monitor my BP closely, and I know how crucial regular checkups are when on heavy medications. During pregnancy, things are even more sensitive, so please don't make any changes without your doctor's supervision.

Lithium levels need very precise blood monitoring because pregnancy changes how your kidneys filter things. Track all your symptoms and doctor appointments carefully on an app, and do not stop or start this medication on your own.

Hey, I understand how overwhelming this must be for you. Lithium is a strong medication, so please book an appointment with your gynecologist as soon as possible to discuss safe alternatives or dosage adjustments.
