Can you take a pregnancy test during your period?

My period just started, but it feels much lighter and different than usual. I've also been feeling a bit nauseous. I'm a little confused and wanted to ask, can you take a pregnancy test during your period?

Look, if you are having your normal heavy period, you are not pregnant, so there is no point in wasting money on a test. But if it is just very light spotting and you are confused, go ahead and test, it won't affect the chemical strip.

Hey, don't stress too much! You can technically take a test even if you are bleeding, but if it is your actual heavy period, you are highly unlikely to be pregnant. Just wait for the bleeding to finish to see if it was just a lighter flow.

I can only share what happened with me. I had light bleeding which I thought was my period, so I took a test anyway, and it turned out to be positive. The bleeding was actually early pregnancy spotting, not a real period.

I know how stressful it is when your mind won't stop racing with questions. Yes, you can physically take the test, as blood in urine won't change the hCG hormone results. If it helps calm your anxiety, go ahead and do it.

In all my years, I've seen that once a proper period starts, pregnancy is not there. But if you have doubts because the flow is very less, testing won't do any harm. Keep your mind calm.
