Can you sleep with upper dentures in?

My father wears upper dentures and often complains about them feeling loose during the day. He wants to know if it's better to sleep with them in or take them out, hoping it might make them more comfortable or last longer. What's the general advice on this?

Please take them out. I ignored this advice and slept with mine, which caused a fungal infection under my palate that took months to treat. Don't make the same mistake, let your mouth rest.

Just like your body needs rest after a good workout, your gums need rest from the dentures overnight. Take them out, clean them, and focus on drinking plenty of water to keep your oral hygiene top notch.

It is best to let your body rest in its natural state during sleep. Removing the upper denture allows the gums to breathe and stay healthy. Take care of your health and sleep well.

Actually, dental apps and studies suggest keeping dentures out for at least 6-8 hours daily to prevent stomatitis. Take them out at night, clean them, and keep them in water to maintain their shape.

No, it is not good to sleep with them. Your gums need to rest overnight to stay healthy. Take care.

My dentist at Kokilaben hospital strictly told me never to sleep with any dentures in. It can cause serious bacterial buildup. Please ask your dentist clearly during your next visit.
