Can you sleep with clip in hair extensions?

I just got some new clip-in hair extensions, and they look great. Sometimes I'm too tired to take them out at night. Is it generally safe for my hair and scalp to sleep with clip-in hair extensions, or should I definitely remove them every night?

I am actually planning to buy my first set of clip-ins and was wondering about this too. I read on online forums that the constant friction on the pillow can cause traction alopecia. It seems taking them off is definitely the best way to go.

It is much safer for your hair to take them out before sleeping. It protects your scalp from pain and keeps the extensions from getting damaged.

With PCOS, hair thinning is a common issue, so I am very cautious about anything that strains my hair roots. Sleeping with clip-ins will definitely put unnecessary tension on your follicles. I highly recommend taking them out to keep your scalp healthy.

For strong hair, a diet rich in proteins like dals and leafy greens is key. Externally, we must protect our hair from mechanical damage. Sleeping with clip-in extensions causes friction and breakage, so it is best to take them out every single night.

Beta, hair is very delicate, and pulling it with metal clips all night will surely make it fall out. In our times, we just braided our hair loosely before bed. For good hair health, put a little lukewarm amla oil on your scalp instead of wearing artificial things to bed.

Totally agree with others. Sleeping in them will ruin the clips and cause severe tangles in your real hair by morning.

Oh, definitely don't sleep in them! After a heavy dinner, all I want is to jump into bed and be 100% comfortable. Having metal clips poking into your head all night sounds like a total nightmare. Take them out and sleep peacefully!
