Can you see cavities in your teeth?

My friend recently had a dental check-up and discovered she had a few cavities she didn't even know about. It made me wonder about my own teeth. Can you always visually spot cavities yourself, just by looking at your teeth carefully?

I think you can see them if they are big and dark, but I am not very sure. My back tooth has a tiny greyish spot and it feels a bit weird when I drink tea. Does that mean it is a cavity already?

I used to rinse with warm saltwater thinking it would cure my tooth sensitivity, but the cavity was already visible as a dark spot. Home remedies only help with temporary pain. You should get a dentist to look at it before the decay spreads.

With my love for sweets and desserts, I am always checking my teeth for cavities! Some of them look like tiny black spots on the molars. I always keep a check so I can enjoy my food without any toothache.

Yes, if you look closely with a flashlight, you can see dark spots or small holes on the chewing surfaces. Getting a small filling done now will cost you very little compared to a costly root canal treatment if you ignore it.

I have these tiny brown lines on my back teeth, but they don't hurt at all. Are these actually cavities or just normal food stains? I am so scared of visiting the dentist and getting a painful drilling done.
