Can you have pcos without symptoms?

My mother and sister both have PCOS, and my doctor suggested I get checked too. However, I don't really have any noticeable symptoms like irregular periods or acne. Is it possible for someone to have PCOS without experiencing any symptoms at all?

Do not trust anyone who says you can diagnose asymptomatic PCOS through some simple home test or random online questionnaire. If you don't have typical symptoms like irregular cycles or hair growth, you might only find out during a routine pelvic ultrasound. Always verify such findings with a proper clinical blood test and a qualified doctor.

Yes, it is possible to have what is called 'silent' or asymptomatic PCOS, where you only discover it during an ultrasound for something else. However, please don't start worrying or self-treating without a clear diagnosis. It is best to work closely with a gynecologist to understand if you actually need any treatment.

My sister actually found out she had PCOS during a random checkup scan for some stomach pain, even though she had zero symptoms like acne or weight gain. It was super surprising for all of us. So yeah, it can definitely be completely silent with no obvious signs.

I went through this exact same thing recently where my blood reports and cycles were completely normal, but a routine scan showed polycystic ovaries. It took some lifestyle adjustments and regular doctor visits to get my system balanced. Don't panic, just stay proactive with your yearly health checkups.

I completely understand how anxious you must feel thinking that something might be wrong inside your body without you even knowing it. It is very scary when you can't rely on visible symptoms to feel safe. Just try to breathe easy and get a simple clinical consult, it will really help ease your mind.
