Can you have honey during pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester and heard conflicting advice about honey. Is it safe to have honey during pregnancy, like in warm water or tea?

Yes, you can absolutely have honey while pregnant, so don't stress. Just make sure it is pasteurised and from a good brand, not raw honey directly from local farms. It is actually great for soothing an itchy throat or minor cough during these months.

My sister had it almost daily in her warm water during her second trimester. The doc told her it's completely safe for the baby because adult digestive systems can easily handle any bacteria. Just don't give it to the baby after birth till they are at least one year old.

Haan bilkul khayein, koi issue nahi hai. Bas local khula honey lene ke badle Dabur ya Patanjali ka packed bottle hi use karein. Pregnancy mein safe rehna thoda jaroori hai aur packet wale honey mein contamination ka darr nahi hota.

It is perfectly fine to consume honey, but try to keep the quantity in check if you have gestational diabetes. Pasteurized honey from any regular grocery store is safe. I used to mix it with ginger juice for acidity and it worked wonders.

I was also wondering about this because my mother-in-law told me honey can generate heat in the body. Is it okay to have it daily with lemon water, or should I restrict it to once or twice a week? Pls let me know if anyone else had it daily.
