Can you get positive pregnancy test and not be pregnant?

I took a home pregnancy test last week, and it came back positive. But since then, I've had some light bleeding and don't feel much. My friend mentioned it might be a false positive. Can you get a positive pregnancy test and not actually be pregnant?

Yes, it can happen sometimes! 😮 It could be a chemical pregnancy, or maybe you read the test after the time limit (evaporation line). Best to do another test in the morning or consult your doctor!

Actually yes, yaar. False positives can happen if you are taking certain fertility medications or if the kit is expired. My wife got a faint line once but it was just an evaporation line. Better to get a blood test done.

Haan na, it is so confusing and stressful when this happens. Sometimes if we leave the kit for too long, a second faint line appears, which is false, ho na. Try checking again tomorrow morning with a fresh kit.

Hormonal imbalances, especially thyroid or fertility treatments, can sometimes interfere with these home tests. It is always wise to get a beta-hCG blood test done at a lab for confirmation, followed by a doctor's visit.

My wife and I went through this panic last year. We got a positive test but the blood report was negative. The doctor explained it was an early chemical pregnancy. Don't worry, it is a very common thing, just consult your gynaecologist.

My doctor told me that true false positives are rare but can happen due to early miscarriage (chemical pregnancy), specific medications containing hCG, or ovarian cysts. It is best to schedule a quantitative blood test to know the exact hCG level.

In our days, we did not have these home kits, but I have seen my daughters deal with false alarms. Don't let your mind race with worry. Wait for two days, test again calmly, or go see a family doctor.

I was just reading about this online today! Apparently, expired test kits or checking the result after the 5-minute mark can show a faint second line. It's really interesting how these chemical reactions can be tricky sometimes.
