Can you get mastitis during pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester and have been feeling some breast tenderness and warmth lately. My cousin had mastitis after delivery and it sounded painful. Is it possible to develop mastitis even while I'm still pregnant?

I totally get it, breast changes during pregnancy can be so painful and scary. Yes, you can get mastitis even before the baby is born because of milk ducts starting to prep. Please don't suffer in silence and talk to your doctor.

My cousin actually had this during her third trimester. I had no idea it could happen before childbirth too, but apparently clogged ducts are a real thing during pregnancy.

Yes, you can. I ignored a painful red lump in my breast during my eighth month, thinking it was just normal pregnancy soreness, and it turned into a severe infection. Please get it checked by your ob-gyn immediately.

Haan beta, bilkul ho sakta hai. Body me dhoodh banna shuru hota hai toh kabhi kabhi blockage ho jata hai. Tum thoda garm kapde se sek karo aur doctor ko zaroor dikha lo.

Yes, infections can happen during pregnancy, and if you have gestational diabetes like I did, your body might take longer to heal. Keep your sugar levels in check and let your doctor know about the breast pain immediately.

It is definitely possible, though more common after birth. I had high fever and severe breast pain during pregnancy which needed antibiotics under strict supervision. Please see your doctor to avoid any complications.

I just went through this last month in my eighth month of pregnancy. The pain was unbearable and my breast was warm to touch. My gynae put me on safe antibiotics and it cleared up in a week.

Pregnancy is a beautiful journey but our bodies go through so many changes. Yes, breast inflammation can happen now. Stay positive, keep yourself calm, and let your doctor guide you through this.
