Can you get kidney stones from alcohol?

My husband drinks a couple of beers every evening, and he's worried about his health. Someone told him that alcohol can cause kidney stones. Is that true?

Yes, alcohol dehydrates your body severely, which makes it very easy for minerals to crystallize into kidney stones. Make sure to drink plenty of water if you do consume alcohol.

Actually yaar, beer doesn't clear stones like some people claim. Alcohol dehydrates you like crazy, and that is how stones actually start forming because of concentrated urine. So if you are partying, keep drinking water alongside or you'll regret it later.

Haha yes, the myth that beer washes away stones is totally wrong! 🍺 Alcohol actually causes dehydration, which is the perfect friend for kidney stones. Better to stick to fresh lime juice or plain water to keep those kidneys happy! Sugar-free juices are the best. 😊

Haan na, people think drinking beer is good for stones, but it actually causes more dehydration. My uncle used to drink daily and had to get surgery for a 10mm stone last year, ho na. Better to avoid regular alcohol and drink fresh coconut water instead.

Alcohol is very dry in nature and heats up the body, which leads to stone formation. Drinking barley water or warm water with a squeeze of fresh lemon daily can help clear out minor toxins. But if you have severe back pain or blood in urine, please don't wait for home remedies and see a doctor immediately.

Yes, heavy alcohol consumption messes up your uric acid levels, leading to painful stones. Along with cutting down on alcohol, staying active and going for a 30-minute brisk walk daily helps improve kidney function and overall metabolism, provided your body allows it.
