Can you get a fever from food poisoning?

Last night, I ate at a new restaurant and now I'm having terrible stomach cramps and loose motions. I also feel quite weak and my body is hot. Can food poisoning lead to a fever?

Dude, yes! I ate some shady street momos last month and ended up with a crazy fever along with vomiting. It was the worst weekend ever. Hydrate like crazy with ORS and don't make my mistakes.

Ah, the classic 'bad biryani' revenge! Yes, your body basically goes to war against those evil microbes and turns up the heat. Think of the fever as your internal security system kicking out the bad guys. Just stay close to the washroom and drink your coconut water!

Yes, infection from contaminated food frequently triggers a high fever. When this happened to me, I consulted my doctor at Manipal Hospital immediately because self-treating stomach bugs can be risky. Please get a proper prescription instead of waiting it out.

I can't say what you should do medically, but when I had severe food poisoning from a restaurant dinner, my fever went up to 102. It took me a full three days of complete bed rest and light curd-rice to feel like a human again.

Look, food poisoning is no joke. If you have a fever with loose motions, your body is fighting a real infection. Stop eating spicy stuff immediately, take plenty of fluids, and go see a local doc if you feel too weak. Don't sit around hoping it will go away on its own.

I completely understand how terrifying it feels to suddenly get a high fever when your stomach is already upset. You start overthinking the worst. But please take a deep breath; fever is very common with food bugs. Just focus on staying hydrated and talk to a doctor to calm your mind.

In my sixty years, I have seen many such stomach upsets. Fever is just the body's natural way of burning out the bacteria. Drink plenty of warm water, eat very light khichdi, and let your body rest. You will be perfectly fine in a day or two, son.
